Bicheno is a quiet beachside town along the East Coast of Tasmania.

Travel to Bicheno is simple by road, just over two hours from Hobart.

In a town of around 450, there are places to eat and shop for essentials. Facing onto the Tasman Sea, Bicheno is in close proximity to surf breaks, East Coast Tasmanian wineries, and popular Freycinet and Douglas-Apsley National Parks.

In the early evening at high tide, walking over the sandbar to Diamond Island is the best time to spot penguins on the beaches. Between May to December, there is plenty of vantage points to spot whales.
